Weekend Beauty Tip : Switch Off
Last night I did something I have not done in over a year. I ran a warm herbal bath and threw in a generous amount of fragrant bath salts and ayurvedic oils. I left behind my emails and facebook and shut down my computer. I dimmed the lights and lit some candles. I turned off all sounds and switched off my mobile phone. I poured myself a humble amount of fruit wine. I smothered by face with a delicious and intensely moisturising face-mask. I closed my eyes. And I let myself sink in.

I sank in a little deeper, just enough to let the waters close in around my ears.
All sounds disappear. If you truly give in to the sensation as I did, and use that moment to let go of everything, every thought, every worry, doubt, fear, past, and future, then a surreal sensation is experienced, of the oldest living memory of floating in the mother's womb, a memory without any memory, without any conditioning, prejudice, goal, desire, expectation or disappointment. A memory of just 'being'.
Muscles instantly begin to relax, breathing deepens, circulation increases, and blood pressure goes down. An instant de-stressing action begins through the body, relieving aches, pains, and sores. Your Skin begins to soften, pores start to self cleanse, toxins are released.
An hour later I came out feeling like a new person. My mind had calmed down, my body felt ultra-relaxed. I wrapped myself in a soft bathrobe, I made myself a warm cup of camomile tea and a spoilt myself with a cinnamon cookie, and retired to bed with a good book, at this moment 'Invisible Cities' (Italo Calvino) which by itself is a meditative reading experience.
You do not have to go all the way to a spa to rejuvenate yourself. You can do it at home. Take time off this Sunday night, and let that time be entirely yours and yours only. Take time off to pamper your mind, Love your body and nourish your soul.
Kick start the week feeling completely revived. You're going to reach your workplace on Monday morning with a divine glow on your face and a sexy spark in your eyes, and people will ask you if you're in love. And you're going to say "Why, of course".
